Heat QuiltCrochet Blanket, Spring 2021
Developed at the University of Washington’s DXARTS SoftLab, Heat Quilt explores data embodiment. The work is inspired by heat maps, which are a common type of data visulization. The artist crochets a quilt as a physical heat map, with each square of the quilt heating up based on the amount of data points falling into that aera. The quilt displays data on sexual violence in Seattle, WA.
